# Exchange Baccarat Scores

### How does scoring work for Exchange Baccarat?

Each card has a points value: picture cards are worth 10, an Ace is worth 1 and all other cards are worth face value. The card suit is not considered when determining the Points Value. See the following table for further details :

 Card (Any Suit) Points Value Ace 1 King 10 Queen 10 Jack 10 Ten 10 Nine 9 Eight 8 Seven 7 Six 6 Five 5 Four 4 Three 3 Two 2

To work out the score of a Baccarat hand, simply add the points values of all cards in the hand and if it is greater than 9, subtract 10. If the score is still greater than 9, keep subtracting 10 until the score is between 0 and 9. Examples :

Hand : Ten, Three, Five – Score is 8
Hand : Ten, Jack, Queen – Score is 0
Hand : Five, Ace, Ace – Score is 7
Hand : King, Eight – Score is 8
Hand : Ten, Ten, Five – Score is 5
Hand : King, Ace, Eight – Score is 9

### What is a ‘Natural’?

A ‘natural’ refers to a hand of only two cards that has a total score of 8 or 9.
